Ruler

show vertical ruler

Displays or not a vertical ruler: a column of numeric labels, one for each horizontal grid line (the lines defined by grid y step or grid z step and min grid space, computed even when show grid is OFF). Each label is the distance from the center point converted with space dimension Y (or space dimension Z in the side, front and rear views), followed by the ruler vertical symbol. When both rulers are visible, the labels of the horizontal ruler that would overlap those of the vertical ruler are hidden.

ruler vertical position

Horizontal position of the vertical ruler labels, as a fraction of the panel width: 0 (default) puts them along the left edge, 1 along the right edge.

ruler vertical symbol

Text appended to each label of the vertical ruler, for example a unit such as m or %. Empty by default.

show horizontal ruler

Displays or not a horizontal ruler: a row of numeric labels, one for each vertical grid line (the lines defined by grid x step or grid y step and min grid space, computed even when show grid is OFF). Each label is the distance from the center point converted with space dimension X (or space dimension Y in the side views), followed by the ruler horizontal symbol.

ruler horizontal position

Vertical position of the horizontal ruler labels, as a fraction of the panel height: 1 (default) puts them along the bottom edge, 0 along the top edge.

ruler horizontal symbol

Text appended to each label of the horizontal ruler, for example a unit such as m or %. Empty by default.

ruler font color

Color of the ruler labels. When the panel quick color is changed, it takes the light font color of the current color set.

ruler font size factor

Size of the ruler labels, from 0 to 2: the font size in pixels is 1 + 20 x factor, so 0.5 gives 11 pixels and 2 gives 41 pixels. A new panel starts at 0.36 (about 8 pixels).

space dimension X

Value scale of the panel along the X axis, from 1 to 10000 (default 100), used to compute the ruler labels: at zoom factor 1, a graduation located at half the panel height away from the center point reads this value, so a square panel with the center in the middle displays values from -X to +X. Zooming in reduces the displayed range accordingly. The number of decimals adapts to the displayed range (2 decimals for small ranges, 1 for medium ones, none for large ones). It is used by the horizontal ruler in the top view (and on 2D panels) and in the front and rear views.

space dimension Y

Value scale of the panel along the Y axis, from 1 to 10000 (default 100), with the same rules as space dimension X. It is used by the vertical ruler in the top view (and on 2D panels) and by the horizontal ruler in the side views.

space dimension Z

Value scale of the panel along the Z axis, from 1 to 10000 (default 100), with the same rules as space dimension X. Only available on 3D panels; it is used by the vertical ruler in the side, front and rear views.
