see global-array-tutorial to learn how to use global arrays.

Settings

on

Activates or deactivates the module.

name

Name of the global array.

Only one global-array module should be created with a given name, so each name has to be unique.

name suffix

Defines if a suffix is added automatically at the end of the name to produce names like MYARRAY-1, MYARRAY-2,etc.

  • no suffix
  • poly voice num - 1: number of the voice in a polyphonic sub-patch.
  • rack num - 1: number of the current rack.
  • patch num - 1: number of the current patch.
  • user: user defined suffix.

user suffix

User defined suffix string appended to the global array name. Only visible when name suffix is set to user.

old names

List of alternate names for the global-array as a comma-text. Use this field if the global-array has been renamed and you want to ensure a backward compatibility of files and presets. If the global-array values can't be retrieved during the loading procedure (because its name has changed), Usine will lookup into the list of old names.

saved name

Optional name used to save the global-array. This name is used on save/load preset command or in the global-array-save-load-file module.

global array

Direct input or output for all values of the global array.

trigger

Only for global-array-trigger value of the trigger state.

value

Separated values of each element of the global array.

reset

Resets all values of the global array according the reset size and the reset value.

reset values

Values used for the reset operation.

Comma-text values used for the reset operation (only for global-array-string module).

reset size

The array size set by the reset operation.

When ON, sends the array to all connected computers on the network each time it has been modified. The options share active and send global arrays must be activated in the setup-panel-tab-network.

received from shared computers

When ON, the array can receive values from all connected computers on the network. The option share active must be activated in the setup-panel-tab-network.

resend to network

Force the module to resend its values to all shared computers even if send to shared computers is OFF.

force reset size on loading

Force the size of the global-array to always be equal to the reset size when it's loaded from a file or a preset.

don't save if equal default value

When ON, the global array values aren't saved by the global-array-save-load-file if their values are equal to the default value.

Can reduce the size of the files and avoid to save unnecessary values.

saved in preset

Determines if parameters of this object are saved in the preset-panel.

fade preset

Parameters of the this object can cross faded when you recall a preset in the grid.

Optional setting, does not appear on all objects.

can be reset

When ON, this object will be reset to its default value when using the reset command of its patch.

info

show manual

Button. Opens the manual page of the selected object (or of its parent module for a control) in the web browser. If no page exists for this object, an error is traced in the trace panel.

For more details about information/help creation, see create-help-file.

description

Free multi-line text attached to the module, saved with the patch. It is only meant as an internal note for the patch designer: it is not displayed in the interface.

ID's

visible only in god mode, see setup-panel-tab-expert.

unique ID

Read-only, not saved. Current private numeric ID of the object, used internally to identify it (for example as the target of a bind ID).

preset ID

Read-only, not saved. Private ID used to store and recall the values of this control in presets.

recreate ID

Button. Generates a new unique ID, original ID and preset ID for the object. Use it if you experience difficulties in Polyphonic mode or if two objects share the same ID. Preset values and binds referring to the old IDs are lost.

Object Remote Address

absolute

Read-only, not saved. Absolute address of the object in the Usine objects tree, built from the workspace root. This is the address to use to reach the object from scripts, the objects panel or remote messages. Only shown for objects that are registered in the objects list. See objects-address.

local

Read-only, not saved. Address of the object relative to the current patch, valid inside that patch only. See objects-address.

user addr

Free user-defined address for the object (empty by default). When set, the object is also registered in the objects tree under this name, so it can be reached independently of its position in the workspace (the value is also reported in the mouse-over and mouse-down chunks). Changing it rebuilds the objects list. Only available on objects that support a user address. See objects-address.
