fader settings

Settings related to fader appearance and behavior.

layout

text align

Determines where the caption and the value are drawn relatively to the fader bar. For horizontal faders:

• centered: caption and value are drawn on one line, over the fader bar,
• top: the caption and the value are drawn in the upper half, the fader bar in the lower half,
• bottom: the caption and the value are drawn in the lower half, the fader bar in the upper half,
• left+right: the caption is drawn on the left and the value on the right of the fader bar, the bar itself uses the fader width factor.

For vertical faders:

• caption up: the caption is above the fader bar,
• caption bottom: the caption is below the fader bar.

Fader

show fader

Displays or not the fader bar (the filled part showing the current value). When OFF, only the caption, the value and the cursor (if show cursor is ON) remain visible, which is useful to build numeric displays.

fader color

Color of the filled part of the fader bar, from the origin to the current value.

Example with a blue fader.

fader back color

Color of the empty part of the fader bar, from the current value to the end of the fader. Not used with the plain and fixed line layouts, which only draw the filled part.

line thickness

Thickness in pixels of the fader bar for the dashed, line and fixed line layouts, from 2 to 40 (default 6). Ignored by the plain layout, which fills the whole height of the bar.

fader layout

Drawing style of the fader bar:

• plain: the bar fills the whole available height, from the origin to the current value, with the rounded corners of cursor round size,
• dashed: the bar is drawn as a dashed line of line thickness,
• line: a thin line of line thickness shows the filled part in fader color and the rest in fader back color,
• fixed line: a line of line thickness is drawn on the whole width in fader color, only the cursor shows the position.

fader width factor

Proportion of the control width used by the fader bar, from 0 to 1. The bar is centered, so the remaining space is split on both sides. Only used when text align is set to left+right, where it leaves room for the caption and the value.

fader height factor

Same as fader width factor for vertical faders: proportion of the control height used by the fader bar, from 0 to 1.

symmetric fader

When ON, the fader bar is drawn from the center of the fader instead of from its origin, so positive and negative values grow in opposite directions from the middle. Only available on faders whose range can be symmetric (for example pan or bipolar values).

mouse active

When ON (default), the value can be changed with the mouse or the touch screen. When OFF, clicks and drags on the fader are ignored, the fader only displays the value received from its inlet, remotes or presets.

mouse wheel enabled

When ON, the value can be changed with the mouse wheel when the mouse is over the fader, with the precision of the fader. When OFF, the wheel is ignored, which avoids accidental changes while scrolling a panel.
