record options

Record options

record in background

Determines if the sampler keeps playing while it records.

  • OFF (default): when the recording starts, the current sample is deselected and the playback stops, the audio output is silent until the recording ends. When the recorded file is added to the sample list, it becomes the selected sample.
  • ON: the current sample keeps playing normally during the recording, which is done in the background. When the recording ends, the sample is deselected. When the recorded file is added to the sample list, the previously selected sample stays selected.

This option has no effect in the overdub and circular buffer record modes, or when record and play is ON, since the playback is never stopped in these cases.

record and play

When ON, the sampler keeps playing while it records, so the input signal being recorded can be monitored through the sampler output (like an audio thru). When OFF, the playback is stopped during the recording in the rewrite and append record modes.

normalize recorded file

When ON, the recorded sound is normalized (its peak level is raised to the maximum) when it is saved to disk with save rand or save name. The sound kept in memory is not modified.

send by email

Sends the recorded sound as an audio file attached to an e-mail addressed to the email address, using the default e-mail client of the system. If the recorded sound has not been saved yet, a file name is asked first. Does nothing if nothing has been recorded.

This value is confidential: it is masked in the JSON description of the patch used by the AI assistant, but it is saved normally in the patch file.
