another button interaction question

I sure wish I was better at event-driven programming, but it just makes my head hurt. I'm thankful as always for the folks in this forum!

I need two buttons that have the following behavior:

turning either button ON turns the other OFF, but:

both buttons can be OFF.

both buttons can NOT be ON.

everything I've tried so far doesn't work.

do you mean button, or switch ?

cause two buttons can hardly be both ON at the same time...
