how do I change the background color of a subpatch??

my subpatches all get a grey background in the touchscreen view, and I can't figure out how to change it. I've changed the main patch background to black, but the color option doesn't seem to affect subpatches.

if i understand well , open your subpatch ,try to put your local interface in " stand alone " mode , edit it , then put in it again in "parent interface " mode...

okay. I notice there is a menu item for 'change background of subpatches' but it doesn't seem to recurse past the first level of subgroups..... bug??
