Well to do this a decent pitch shifter is vital, and we do not have one.
Using the granulator user module with pitch shift works but the grains cannot be smoothed enough to avoid the choppy output.
And the pitch shifter patch that uses the phase vocoder modules in both directions produces an unpleasant garbled output - this must be due to poor resolution of the FFT routines in one of both directions.
Usine really needs a decent pitch shifter.
Of course can use a pitch shifter VST effect, but that's not really the point.

did some experiments with FFT
although the pitch shifting is not really good yet, it starting to get the shimmer effect.
best results would be to compensate for the FFT delay in the reverb feedback itself (thats my guess)

definitly should have a go with the "hydrogen V4" user module...

This looks very interesting to get a smoother pitch shift effect:
http://blogs.zynaptiq.com/bernsee/pitch ... ng-the-ft/
The pitch shifting really needs to be in the feedback of the reverb. I had a look at the reverb user module that uses the freeverb algorithm (basically comb filters of different delays and then some more all-pass filters (to create more delay ?). Its not obvious to me that in that algorithm there is feedback from output to input at all, but I think if there is, it is within the filters. The requirement of shimmer is that the pitch shifted reverb is fed back so it gets pitch shifted again, in a cycle.
Anyway, for the time being I have bought the Valhalla shimmer reverb VST.
But this might be a time when a professional quality pitch shift module needs to be developed for Usine. The more high quality effects in usine rather than using plugins the better, and it helps to keep latency down.
I'll have a look at the "hydrogen V4" user module. Is it in add-ons ?

I found the hydrogen V4 module in the Oli Lab modules pack.
Is there any documentation available ?
Also, are you making any source code available for these modules ?

as for documentation, let say that I'm too busy making modules
I'll put a series of exemples for the different modules some time.
