make a low latency pitch shifter with a delay module

Hi. i try to reproduce the pitch shifting effect produced by this boss pedal : http://www.google.fr/imgres?imgurl=http ... Ag&dur=485
this pedal give a nice quality of pitch shifting sound for a guitar and have a very low latency.
It's also a digital delay so i suppose the pitch shift is created using modulated delays.
any ideas ?
