Meters as audio/data?

I asked this in another unrelated thread, but couldn't find it. I thought I'd give it it's own thread.

Is there any CPU savings to be gained by hooking meters to a data send instead of audio send? Any downside?

Seems like meters run at data rate anyway, so sending to them via audio buss seems unnecessarily expensive.

Thoughts from anyone who knows?

well, it doesn't matter.! HH is working fine powering 13 instruments and effects even with 30 meters in the wkp.....
