bi-directional (input and output) parameters.

Anyone scripting is familiar with setting up a parameter and turning off input or output to make it uni-directional. If a parameter is left bi-directional, is there anything useful or clever that can be done with it ? Just looking to expand my scripting techniques ...

Perhaps it could be used almost like a shared memory variable between 2 scripts, i.e. both can set it or read it. I'll try a few things when I get the time ...
