I dlike to buid a 64 grid square basis that would be the most modular possible, that mean I think that I need to well think how to index them, is it by row, column... I feel a logical way should be a way to say "I want light up swich row3 column 1, or whole row 2, column 1 and 2 ect", in other words XY index
this seems fairly simple but my brain let me down for now, i can't imagine the best way to do it.
how would you proceed?

it might be worth taking a leaf out of monome's book - they're implementation seems to work pretty well for people and if you OSC it properly you can also amke use of all the software they've already done. from what i've read (http://docs.monome.org/doku.php?id=tech:protocol:osc it's basically x,y indexing
that's not to say their way is the best, just that there could be advantages to doing it that way.

yes thx clearscreen, interesting.
I could create an array in that index cells in order in X or Y but still can't catch the way to say I want X2,Y3 and still wonder if it's better to make 4x16 or 8x8 that might be scrollable, but at least I defined the limit: 64, stroring to preset is now longer than the simple 4x4 hehe optimize optimize.

4x16 is kind of useful for 16 step sequencing, but had a look at a maschine at a friends place last night and 4x4 also seems to work fine for sequencing once you get your head around it

yup decided to let down 64 for now, too much possibilities and too much cpu/maintenance unfriendly, will more try to enhance 4x4 , as i dlike to give a shot to this way of sequencing,to have virtual access outside the squre with a scroll, dlike to swich other pages inside same preset, would be faster, but complex too..
