comparing text in scripts

I'm trying to get a boolean when comparing strings.

I've tried compareText, and '=' and uppercase(t1) = uppercase(t2) and nothing is giving a different result for T1='text1' and t2 = 'differentText' vs. t2='Text1' vs. t2 = 'text1'.

How can I get this to work? Stumped!

Never mind: user error! upperCase(trim(Text)) = works fine.
