I know there is a trace module that sends data to the console, but it would be really nice to have a trace module that displayed right in the patch window.
It would resemble the comment module, except it could dynamically update to show a value, or perhaps a few recent values.... maybe with a numLines input. That way you wouldn't have to dig through the console messages looking for the one you are interested in.
While I'm thinking of it, I have often wondered--is there a reason that the value for a control is typically not visible in the parameter window? It's so useful to be able to see output values for scripts, and odd that you can't see the value of a fader, for instance, without finding it in the control panel or IB or what have you.
I guess you can always look at the cable.... although the cable display list is very often obscured by some subpatch panel..... and amazingly, amazingly tiny!
