I'd love to control built in PM from patches :)

just add PM module to patch, and then connect to it some buttons/switches it's easy ;)

you're right. It's just a pity having these convenient built-in PM, and not using it.

Since the 076 the PM module has been improved and can be controlled more easily in patches.
