I've been thinking that it would be useful to be able to select where Plugin UI is displayed beside usual window that we usually get.
So the options would be as with normal panel elements - target and position, the target would be normal window, floating popup window (that stays in same place relative to the rest of patches and racks as you scroll the workspace), patch or container. Scaling is not so important if it's a big hassle to implement.
Another option is bitmap output of the plugin (with scaling and cropping), with this you don't get to control plugin UI directly, but it can be used to cut-in some portions of plugin's UI into the patch or just use it as reference background to place Usine's controls on top with same layout.

+1 on this.
Does anybody remember, there was some dedicated software/touchscreen combo at NAMM a few years back that allowed you to display some small portion of a vst in one of its windows. I thought that was super clever.
usine V5 had lots of options of where to put vst windows IIRC. I found good uses for that.

the main pb this feature doesn't belongs to Usine but the system (OSX or WIN). In Usine 5 it was a dirty hack, impossible now: I can't chose how I want to display the plugin.

It's true that every other DAW is displaying plugins in separate windows as far as I've seen, except Usine 5. But perhaps finding and using hacks and tricks is the way to do it.
