I thought that was super clever.
usine V5 had lots of options of where to put vst windows IIRC. I found good uses for that.

Scaling is not so important if it's a big hassle to implement.
Another option is bitmap output of the plugin (with scaling and cropping), with this you don't get to control plugin UI directly, but it can be used to cut-in some portions of plugin's UI into the patch or just use it as reference background to place Usine's controls on top with same layout.
