I think there's need for a mode switch between drawing across steps (as it does right now) and drawing steps separately (with multi-touch as well), essentially making it an array of faders without having to actually make several faders. What's more, it would be useful to have some button for enabling and disabling this mode in toolbar. This might be useful not only for step display mode, but also for lines (for lines this could use gridlock instead though).
